In-practice CT(continued)

MiniCAT™ from Xoran Technologies offers same-day diagnosis, which minimizes copays by reducing the number of office visits needed.  The MiniCAT™ exposes the patient to only one tenth the dose of radiation of conventional full body CT scans, and can be completed in just 40 seconds.

Pediatric scans can be done in 20 seconds or less, and give only about half the radiation of the adult scan.  According to Dr. William C. LeLiever, ENT surgeon and founder of Central Carolina ENT, the imaging can also be reconstructed in three dimensions to aid in image-guided sinus surgery.

Patients with chronic or recurrent sinus disease or severe sinus allergies will benefit from the use of this diagnostic technology as it can discover structural blockages of the sinuses or nasal polyps that may be exacerbating their symptoms.

“The MiniCAT™ is amazing,” said CCENT patient Terry Fisher.  “It was over fast and I had my results immediately—they were right there on the screen as soon as I got up from the chair!  [Dr. LeLiever] was able to discuss my condition with me right away, and we got started on a treatment plan that day.”

CT scan technology, combined with a comprehensive physical head and neck exam and sinus endoscopy, is the first choice for many ENT physicians diagnosing sinus disease in patients of all ages.

CCENT was recently awarded accreditation in the area of Sinus and Temporal Bone CT by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Computed Tomography Laboratories (ICACTL).  They are one of only two North Carolina-based practices to have sought out and won endorsement in this field.

By seeking accreditation by the ICACTL, Central Carolina ENT has taken a major step forward in providing affordable access to the latest in diagnostic technology to its patients.

“We are very serious about the top-of-line care in how we serve our patients. By submitting to this rigorous accreditation process, we believe patients are the ultimate winners,” said LeLiever.

Dr. LeLiever is a highly published and widely renowned surgeon in his field.  He has performed more than 16,000 ear and nasal procedures and over 3,000 sleep related surgeries.  He is the area’s leading expert on the Pillar Procedure, a minimally invasive treatment for snoring and sleep apnea.
